suits

There are always photos and images of our President (past & present) showing up in the news whether on TV or on the front page of the newspaper. I've thought lately how great those photos are & realized part of what makes them classic is that the President always wears a suit. So when our next door neighbor, Don, stopped by one Saturday afternoon earlier this month wearing a suit I felt compelled to photograph him while he talked intently with my husband, Don, over a drink in our kitchen.

And a few Presidents wearing suits:

napkins

I've had my serger sewing machine for a long time. Bought it back in Arkansas in the early 90's. I used it for plenty of garments when the boys were younger but I don't sew clothes so much any more. One of my favorite features of this machine is the rolled hem it makes. I've used it to make dinner napkins that are sixteen inches square. Napkins I get out when the company comes. Then I saw someone suggest sewing cocktail napkins for a party. It gave me the idea to make smaller napkins for everyday use for myself. These new ones are 6 1/2 inch squares. A great way to use up some fabric scraps (or an excuse to buy more fabric). I'm thinking I can quit buying paper napkins. And I enjoy the addition of color & pattern to my meal or cookie break.

Georgie & Audrey

This past Saturday I finally got to meet George Harrison! Becky is in Nebraska visiting family & stopped by. My brother, Don, was along to drive & help out. Georgie is so cute & resembles his big sister, Audrey, a lot.

And Audrey is as cute as ever. At two she is a moving target.

She chased Zeke around a bit.

Not sure how much he liked it . . .

I was glad to see the kids & Becky again. And Don too. Thanks for stopping by!

Lora & Jonathan

My niece, Lora, and her fiance, Jonathan, asked me if I'd take engagement photos of them! I was thrilled! And flattered. So today we met on the campus of the University of Nebraska, including Morrill Hall, then moved on to the State Capitol.

After two hours though, they were ready to call it quits.

They were very patient with me. Thanks Lora & Jonathan!
