breakfast in Rome

Every day in Rome we ate breakfast on the sixth floor of our hotel room. This was our view through large picture windows! The church is St. Peter's Basilica. If you're noticing black specks in the skyline those are swallows. Lots of swallows. They must do a good job of keeping the bug population down because we hardly noticed any while there.

This was our hotel key. There was only one. Don taught me that the expectation is that when you leave the hotel for the day you return your key at the front desk & ask for it back upon your return. That worked out fine but we did have some concerns about security issues. But there was also a safe in our room large enough for the laptop, cameras, passports & wallets.
