Happy Birthday, George!
This is a photo I took of George, Becky's husband, with his daughter, Audrey, back in August. It's one of my favorites.

Light the candles!
Happy Birthday today to Chelsey, Dale's daughter. She stays incredibly busy with 3 jobs and school part time. I don't know how she does it. Also a Happy Birthday to Don, Heather's husband. Then there is Amber (Gene's daughter) and Marc's 5th wedding anniversary. I took this photo of them last spring when we were up at the ranch for turkey season. Happy Anniversary! I hope all of you are celebrating!

garage sale
My friend, Lynne, had a garage sale this past Saturday. A chilly blustery day but she was getting some traffic while I was there.

This hockey puck wasn't for sale. It used to belong to Lynne's father; so it is now a treasured possession of hers. But she happened to have it in hand when putting out some stuff so I took a picture. First time I saw a hockey puck this close up!

Pee Wee Herman caught my eye. Back in the day before the Cartoon Network we'd be up Saturday mornings watching cartoons with the boys. Pee Wee's Playhouse was a favorite. No I didn't purchase the doll though.

What's a garage sale without Life magazines?

This cigar box brings back memories. These were a staple in our house growing up. And what uses we could find for them when the cigars had all been smoked. I still have a box somewhere with memorabilia in it from Catholic grade school.

I finally left with a purchase . . . these shaving soaps that Don can use.

the color of yarn
My LYS (Local Yarn Store) is The Yarn Shop. I love to stop in even if I'm not needing any yarn. The vibrant colors of the wool & cotton (and other fibers) yarn is so much fun to view. The oranges! Reds! Greens! You won't find these colors in the synthetic yarns. You can just stop in with your knitting (or crocheting) & hang out with your project with questions answered & advice given. Salli & her staff are very knowledgeable & generously share their love of knitting.

Happy Birthday, Liz!
Liz (Don's niece) has a birthday today. To celebrate we visited the LYS (local yarn shop; more on it later). Liz likes to crochet; she made the scarf she is wearing. So she found some yarn to crochet herself another scarf & a hat . . . going to try a new recipe. I'm trying to teach her how to knit. We've worked on it twice now & she is getting the hang of it. She's probably knitting a sweater as I write this . . .
