It is apple season. I have a stove top recipe that is even better now that my oven isn't working. I got one apple crisp made though. A couple of people brought apples to work so we have been enjoying this. Melt about 3 T. butter in a skillet on medium heat. Add peeled & sliced apples and cranberries (I use about a third of a bag of frozen ones).
Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, 3 T. flour, pinch salt, dash of vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon & dash of nutmeg.

Mix together. Let cook until sugar starts to carmelize then cover with lid or foil and cook on low heat for 15 minutes or so.

Get the doneness you want.

Serve with ice cream of course! The recipe said to top with granola; it's good either way.
