family photos

Last weekend was Thanksgiving. We had a great time with our family all together. But it also meant that it was time to photograph Mary's family for the seventh year! The weather was spectacular. Elizabeth, Erin's daughter, is the new addition this year so she got some extra attention (and couldn't run off like the other kids did). Adam's girlfriend was also able to be there this year. I also made sure to include Slick the cat. His years are piling up & I like including pets in photos when possible. Don came along & Mary treated us to a piece of homemade pie afterwards. I had pumpkin & Don had coconut cream (his birthday is the end of the month, Mary). On another note, my uncle Butch awoke from his coma & is hoping to return home tomorrow. But with hospice. We are grateful for each day.

white Christmas!

This is the fifth year I have gone to Mary's home to photograph her family around the holidays! It almost didn't happen this year as David, her husband, was gone over Thanksgiving, our traditional time to take pictures. So when her family was all together this past Saturday to celebrate Christmas I finally had my chance. We managed to spend a few moments outdoors too as it was sunny & calm. We always take pictures by the evergreen in the corner that blocks the setting sun. I think this is the first year there's been snow in the pictures!

This is my third year taking family photos for Mary, a coworker. We always pick Thanksgiving weekend when her family is all together. She has a beautiful evergreen in her backyard that they line up in front of. First I photographed Annie with her daughter, Avery. One year old Avery finally has enough hair to put into a ponytail. Sammy is one also & is just so laid back. Lucas balked at getting his picture taken. No smiles from him. I really didn't mind. In years to come these photos will help tell his story . . .

For the second year my coworker, Mary, has given me the chance to photograph her family for her Christmas cards. The group has grown by two since last year, although Mary looks too young to be a grandma! Here she is shown with her husband, David.
