My friend, Joan, gave me her extra cantaloupe plants earlier this summer. There were probably four, I planted three of them. One plant survived & this past week I picked my first cantaloupe! It's not very big in size but the flavor is terrific & it's very juicy. The rain has been regular enough this summer to make this plant survive & thrive. There are three more melons on the vine ripening while I enjoy this first fruit.
