faces of Audrey

Angie also pointed the camera at her niece, Audrey. She is so cute with her small stature & curls. She is an easy target when you are holding a camera . . .

the beach

I sent my old SLR camera with my niece, Angie, on a trip she took to Georgia to visit her sister, Becky. She was to take a calendar photo for me. They visited the beach & Angie took the camera along. So when she returned the camera last week I found these wonderful beach photos. Always a fun sight here in landlocked Nebraska.

Thanks, Angie!

sea of Red

Don & I attended a tailgate party before the Husker football game on Saturday. My first tailgate. It was noisy & loud. Good food. Beer. Big screen tv's. A dj providing entertainment. But when people in our party headed to the stadium, Don & I headed home to watch the game in the comfort & quiet of our living room. On our walk back to the car I took some photos from the hip to capture the sea of red as it flowed to the game.

I paused a moment to take this shot. Fortunately the light rain did not dampen the spirit of the crowd.

swinging

I always loved swinging when I was a kid. And I still do. I did some swinging in a swing just the other day & enjoyed again the to & fro motion. The feeling of weightlessness. Tracy asked me to photograph her family this summer so I suggested we meet at a playground. These are my favorites photos of Lula (the oldest) & Mila on the swings.

grandkids & great grandkids

When I attended Geri's party, Dianne put on the list that she wanted a photo of Geri's grandkids & great grandkids. I took three photos & stood on a chair to get some altitude. This photo is actually a composite photo. Three faces were photoshopped from a different photo. And I'm not saying which ones either. But it was a new trick I learned out of desperation & I am happy with how this one turned out. And everyone was so cooperative even if one of them napped through it! Unfortunately not all of her grandchildren & great grandchildren made it into this photo. A new great grandchild was born just a few days before the party.

brotherly visit

My brothers, Don & Roy, drove Dad to Kansas City on Sunday to visit Butch. Dad's the oldest & Butch is the youngest. Butch has been laid up for a few weeks after injuring his leg. He's spending some time in rehab & I'm sure was glad to have the company.

fall landscapes

Don & I drove up to Norfolk on Saturday to visit family. He drove & I enjoyed the scenery. I don't get out on the country roads real often so it is a treat to see the fall colors. Frost will soon enough snatch away the color. I did punch up the color in photoshop & also removed the bugs that had dirtied up the windshield. Fall harvest has begun.
