Jacey Alexa
I visited Chelsey & Jacey today. She is so tiny! (Austin & Daniel were twice her size!) I could see that Chelsey's presence just talking & touching her was calming for her. Chelsey isn't allowed the joy of sitting in a rocker & just holding her daughter. That will come but must be so difficult right now. But she is doing what she can now to bond with Jayce. She is already so strong. I saw her hold her head up & try to roll over . . . at least that's what it looked like. Oh yeah, her middle name is for her uncle, Alex.

Oh, baby!
This past week was a busy one for babies! Heather delivered Alexandra last Thursday. She weighed 6#8oz & 18 1/2". Betty & Ron are there helping out. Heather sent me the following photos. She is pretty darn cute already!
Then this past Sunday, the doctors decided to bring Jacey into the world at 4#5oz & 18" long! Jacey's mom is Chelsey. Grandparents are Dale & Colleen. Dale sent this photo taken on his phone. I hear they are both doing well. Jacey has some growing to do before she can get out of the hospital though.
Congratulations to everyone!!

Hannah turns one year old!
Today is Hannah's first birthday. On Saturday Nick & Amy had a party for her. Nancy & Mike made the trip to help them celebrate along with Ashley, Laura & Jayden. Nancy took these photos over the weekend & sent them to me. Hannah has such gorgeous eyes with long lashes. And some red hair is growing! Happy Birthday, Hannah!

cattle crossing
Two things are true for me when it comes to shopping & taking pictures. If the opportunity is there to get something I want, be it a new shirt or the chance to photograph something out of the ordinary, get it when I can because when I go back it may be gone. I hate shopping for clothes, anyway, so I'm not one to keep checking for it to go on sale. Last summer I let an opportunity for a photograph go by. We were driving around the country with Herb & had revisited the area where Mavis grew up. Going down a blacktop road we drove past these road signs warning of cattle crossing. Don was driving & I initially asked him to stop but ended up letting the moment pass. But I always regretted not stopping. So this past weekend when Don was hunting I drove around the general area until I found these signs again. The first two road signs are for northbound traffic. The bottom signs for southbound.
