When I was at my uncle Butch's birthday party in July I was sitting on Butch's deck visiting with Brian, his son. Brian had his sunglasses pushed up & they caught a beautiful reflection of the partly cloudy blue sky. Thanks, Brian!

I made a spur of the moment trip to Nebraska City yesterday with my friends, Kathy & Ken. I initially said no to their offer but decided the cleaning & sewing could wait for rainy weather. Anyway, I was so glad I went. Perfect weather. Great lunch at the Lied Lodge. Apple pie. Brought home some apples & squash. And found these pumpkins too.

Happy Birthday, Ron!

Ron turns 69 today! He is enjoying retirement as of earlier this year. Spends his time tinkering on the house or in the yard. Ron has always been the quiet guy. When he gets around my family he is content to sit on the sidelines listening to everyone else. Not a problem since I come from a family of talkers starting with Dad. When I called Ron earlier in the week to see if he'd let me take his picture he handed the phone back to Betty since he wasn't sure he'd heard me right. I was flattered that he said yes.
